The Makita 18 Volt Lithium-Ion rapid optimum charger has the capacity to charge 3 Amp-hour batteries in 30 minutes， 4 Amp-hour batteries in 40 minutes， 5 Amp-hour batteries in 45 minutes and 6 Amp-hour batteries in 55 minutes. Built-in chip in the battery helps in easy communication with the charger to maximize battery life by controlling current， voltage and temperature. Built-in fan of the charger cools down the battery in case of excess heat to prolong the battery’s life.
